The sentimental side of me saved about a dozen, and the rest went to recycling.
A recent edition of Birds and Blooms magazine inspired Kid Chef and me to craft hummingbird feeders with those old baby food jars.
We bought some baking clay, wire, cookie cutters and beads. Kid Chef had quite a time rolling clay and cutting shapes! This activity involves ample opportunities to practice fine motor skills, color identification, baking and working together. Discussions about food science and nature are a must too.
And these feeders make fabulous homemade Mother's Day gifts!
