Easy Deviled Eggs Kids Love to Make

Kid Chef and I don't care for deviled eggs, but the rest of our family loves them. I've been making these simple deviled eggs for 15 years, and their appearance is requested repeatedly.

Hard-cooked eggs provide a fun medium for kids to work with; they can crack, peel and mash without parents worrying about raw egg drippings everywhere. Little ones also love to squeeze the filling into the egg shells. If we don't have a pastry bag on hand, we just cut the tip off a Ziploc and go!

Simple Deviled Eggs Recipe

Ingredients:
  • 6 eggs, hard-cooked
  • 1/4 cup real mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon white vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon spicy brown mustard
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • Dash pepper
  • Dash paprika (optional)
Directions:
  1. Slice hard-cooked eggs lengthwise.
  2. Remove yolks and mash with fork.
  3. Blend in mayonnaise, vinegar,  mustard, salt and pepper.
  4. Pipe or spoon filling into egg whites.
  5. Sprinkle with paprika, if desired.

From our family to yours, happy salad season!

Until next time,
Tricia
