We were baking cookies and he was really into "tasting." I had explained the butter was off-limits, but you know toddlers.
With my back turned, my peripheral vision caught him snagging the butter stick from the edge of the counter. I decided to let it play out.
True to form, he snuck his booty over to his tiny table and took a big bite.
With a huge grimace and a fast-moving head shake, he toddled quickly back to the kitchen and handed the stick back to me, paper still hanging from it, and declared, "Yuck, Mommy! No butter."
We went through a phase where he just knew flour must taste yummy, but thankfully that passed.
Kid Chef has blossomed into quite a baker. He even mans the mixer and rolls the dough himself nowadays.
Speaking of blossoms ... Whether you call them peanut butter Kisses, Hershey's Kiss cookies or peanut butter blossoms, these cookies have earned their place as a holiday mainstay.
We've been converting our favorite peanut butter treats into peanut-free recipes. We've found a winner!
Using Wowbutter soy nut butter and peanut-free Kisses, we've turned these goodies into a safe holiday treat our entire family can enjoy. We'll definitely whip up another batch of these, and we hope you will too!
