Toy Story Alien Cupcakes

It's been so hot this summer, but we were finally able to fire up our oven and bake a little last week. Making alien cupcakes from the beloved Toy Story series turned into a family affair.

Kid Chef worked the mixer.

And Logan and Chef Taylor helped us decorate the next day.

Here's a group shot:

Supplies for Toy Story cupcakes

We baked our favorite white cake mix and let the cupcakes cool. I dyed the cream cheese icing using McCormick Neon! green food color and egg dye. Then we cut up green Twizzlers Rainbow Twists and inserted a 2-inch piece into the top of each one. We cut flat green sour licorice pieces into triangles to make the ears. Wilton's candy eyes were a perfect and easy addition. Finally, each Toy Story alien received a creative expression from our cupcake artists using Wilton's black decorating icing.

Lots of fine motor skills flexed with this project. And they were moist and decadent.

We're eternally grateful to you for reading our blog!

Until next time,
Tricia
