Thank you for visiting our new blog.
Kitchen and Dumplings represents my family’s effort at inspiring parents to convert their kitchens into learning labs. Whether it’s encouraging a toddler to grasp the basics of counting via fruit or helping a tween hone his skills at safe burger flipping, this blog offers ideas that motivate family members to work together.
Kitchen and Dumplings melds the interests of the three “chicks” of our home. As mother hen, I write the majority of our blog articles with assistance from my college-aged stepdaughters: Taylor and Logan. Taylor, a chef-in-training, and Logan, an aspiring filmmaker, lend their creativity to story development and the bulk of our videos.
When my friends heard about my new writing venture, several of them asked if I was launching a kids cooking website. In short, no.
We’ve got a list of ideas about a mile long. Some include cooking videos starring kid chefs. Others focus on alternative uses for common kitchen utensils (I didn’t know you could do that with a potato masher!) and healthy alternatives to junk food cravings. All focus on bringing kids and adults together in the home’s hub: the kitchen.

Until next time,
Tricia
